FIELD JOINT COATING SUPERVISOR

Mission:

  • Supervise the execution of painting, insulation and refractory works, both performed by subcontractors or in direct hiring, ensuring full compliance with safety and quality standards and procedures and verify that works are correctly carried out in accordance with project documentation and in the planned time frame.
  • Support the painting, insulation and refractory subcontractors or the direct hiring personnel ensuring the feasibility (availability of drawings and materials) of the works.

Tasks:

▪ Promote safe works practices and environmental protection, ensuring that safety standards are respected

▪ Ensure the fulfillment of the project quality and contractual requirements

▪ Verify and confirm the availability of drawings and materials, to plan the efficient execution of the works performed by subcontractors or by direct hiring personnel

▪ Assist subcontractors or direct hiring personnel for the correct interpretation of the drawings, providing support in the solution of technical problems

▪ Prepare and coordinate the detailed programs for the assigned activities

▪ Coordinate human and technical resources, indicating any needs or surplus

▪ Verify that works are correctly carried out in accordance with the project specifications, highlighting any engineering problems encountered in the field

▪ Measure the progress of the works carried out

▪ Provide quantitative data for producing weekly progress reports, monitoring the employed manpower

▪ Ensure the continuous assessment of the quantities installed

▪ Coordinate and optimize the field joint coating activities of the project through all its operational phases to reach the safety, quality and productivity targets;

▪ Stay mainly off-shore under the supervision of the vessel 1st assistant;

▪ During the project preparation phase, report to the Corporate field joint coating;

▪ Hold Company certification and training matrix and functional matrix, if required;

 Skills:

▪ Knowledge of the main international Construction standards, codes and regulations;

▪ Knowledge of FBE (Fusion Bonded Epoxy) techniques, internal and external;

▪ Understanding and application of HSE Project Plan; Promotion of safe works practices and environmental protection; Application and promotion of safety intervention; Effective HSE communication (TBD, HSE meetings, etc.); Understanding and correct use of permit to work system and risk assessment;

▪Knowledge of cold and hot insulation materials and relevant installation methodologies;

▪Knowledge of paints materials and specific features (polyester or polyurethane paints); Knowledge of standard painting techniques;

▪Knowledge of sand blasting typologies (SA, SA2, SA 2 1/2, etc)

▪Very good level of English both spoken and written

 Qualification and experience:

▪High school or university degree in related field

▪5 years experience in the same position

▪valid NACE CIP Level 2, NACE CIP Level 3 or FROSIO Level 3 certificate and “Canusa” or “Berry Plastics/Seal for Life” for application of primer activated heat shrink sleeves

 Contract duration: 6 months

Foreseen start date: May 2015

Various onshore and offshore work locations: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Gulf of Mexico, India, China
