▪ Implement health management system on large operating unit or complex Projects (with more units) by ensuring that optimum Health and Health management are provided to all employees by continuous assessment, monitoring and safeguarding of their health
▪ Assure medical coverage for employees under his responsibility, including an effectively functioning chain of medical emergency management
▪ Assure continuous improvement the service through Audits and inspections
▪ Ensure optimum Health management by continuously assessing, monitoring and safeguarding the health of the employees the resource is in charge of
▪ Assure a direct communication with and reporting to functional and hierarchical superiors in dealing with Health and medical issues
▪ Implement relevant documents and contractual requirements related to health and medical issues
▪ Elaborate, revise and full management of Project specific health related documents
▪ Ensure that Program GIPSI is operational or equivalent paper format available and that all the medical services are recorded
▪ Ensure that PSS Program is operational, create strategic health care planning in order to guarantee the desired service with controlled and optimal cost
▪ Equip Medical Structures with equipment, consumables and medicines as stipulated in Health Plan and assure that these are in sufficient quantities at all times using the support of Medicines Management software
▪ Carry out health preventive activities constantly evaluating existing health risks within the unit concerned, performing specific information campaign, specific immunization programs, applying the prevention and management of alcohol and drugs control program
▪ Provide and/or assure the medical support for all Project’s employees and sites
▪ Supervise, monitor and audit medical facilities and Health Management System of major subcontractors engaged on the Project.(if any)
▪ Extend the Health Management System to minor sub-Contractors employees
▪ Ensure that Health Curative Activities are available 24/7/365 at operating site through both in-house assistance and agreements with third parties
▪ Ensure that Health Administrative Activities are carried out on daily, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
▪ Maintain contacts with hierarchical superiors and managers of operations in order to plan different Health Initiatives
▪ Create a First Aid Team for emergency situation, develop the project specific MEDEVAC plan and asses itsfunctionality through regular drills
▪ Organize distribution of first aid equipment in different strategic Project location to guarantee rapid and effective medical assistance during emergency
▪ Ensure proper management of medical waste according to standards and local laws and regulations
▪ Contribute actively to spreading and sharing of Corporate prevention programs assuring their implementation at the Project and respective operating sites
Required experience and skills:
▪ Capability to manage and treat acute and life threatening trauma and cardiac cases, according to simplified and world-wide standardized medical protocol
▪ Capability to plan, perform and coordinate different departments on issues pertaining to medical emergencies and crisis management.
▪ Capability to understand and interpret scientific and evidence based medical studies, their relation with distribution of certain diseases and structure of population and workforce.
▪ Capability to perform audits following internationally recognized procedures in order to verify compliance with the health related documents. Capability to issue audit reports.
▪ Capability to perform Health Risk Assessment (HRA) including identification of health hazard and exposed persons, evaluating the risks to health and determining appropriate control and recovery measures
▪ Knowledge of HSE systems being actively involved in their management and certification
▪ Capability to plan, implement and evaluate different Health preventive activities as required by specific job role. Capability to execute a Health Prevention Plan. Capability to design, implement and/or follow-up Health prevention programs, according to Corporate/Division/company/project protocols
▪ Capability to identify, measure and mitigate different chemical, physical and biological hazard potentially present on work site, respecting company protocols, local legislation or requirements. Capability to perform periodical controls and inspections to identify possible gaps, recording and reporting respective information according to established procedures
▪ Knowledge of diagnosis, treatment and referral of infectious diseases, chemoprophylaxis and immunization required world-wide (pandemias) and/or in different countries where the Company operates. Capability to perform counselling and to record / report the data
▪ Capability to handle medical emergencies also including industrial accidents at the resource area of competence. Knowledge of pre-defined MEDEVAC procedures and well equipped standard health facilities
▪ Capability to ensure availability of standard health facility equipped with medicines, medical consumables, functional equipment and personnel, suitable for each project/site requirement. Capability to assure that health related documents and procedures are in place and updated
▪ Capability to recognize and manage occupational and work related diseases caused by different health hazard present in the work process. Knowledge of occupational health in order to prevent or minimize possible work-related disease. Capability to report in timely manner to the company and/or to appropriate local health authorities
▪ Capability to evaluate the health risks of different chemical and biological agents. Knowledge of symptoms, mechanisms, treatments and detection of poisoning
▪ Knowledge of tropical and travel medicines. Capability to provide pre-travel counselling and education in terms of cultural, climatic, epidemiological, pathological and hygienic, etc. Capability to provide vaccinations and chemoprophylaxis, as well as diagnosis, treatment and/or referral for different conditions, depending on specific country health risks
▪ Capability to draw up health statistics based on results, collected information or reports received. Capability to create periodical health reports presenting current health statistics, trends, analysis and, comparing it with similar sources, draw up solutions to problems encountered during the process proposing improvement actions
▪ Fluent in English – both spoken and written
▪ Computer use – proficient in Microsoft package, experieince in woriking with databases/intranet
