REQUIREMENTS
• SSPC Certified Protective Coatings Specialist
• 10 years’ proved experience in oil & gas major international projects including at least 5 years as a specialist with full responsibility for major technical work in the field of corrosion technology and engineering.
• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Coatings & Polymers, Polymer Science or Polymer Engineering from an accredited university. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) license or registration would be desirable but is not essential;
• Demonstrate specific expertise in coating chemistry, writing specification, standard development, failure analysis, coating selection, application mechanisms and surface preparation.
• English language – fluent spoken and written

TASKS
• Act as the Company’s foremost consultant in dealing with other Company’s departments, governmental or third party, other companies in protective coating issues;
• Provide capital and operations program leadership by conceiving, designing and carrying out major coating studies to resolve complex technical problems, increase revenue, optimize processes, protect the environment, or improves safety;
• Act as a principal investigator in multidisciplinary investigations of major incidents. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) as certified facilitator to resolve specific coating failures;
• Develop and maintain Company’s engineering standards and design best practices to enhance company profitability, safety and productivity;
• Evaluate and introduce best practice and emerging technologies from all over the world to help the company achieve best in class positions in the oil business;
• Evaluate major long-term trends in the area of coatings and serve as a major conduit of technology transfer within the company;
• Develop ideas for major technical studies or projects to be carried out by less senior specialists;
• Contribute to task-force investigations to investigate major incidents or solve specific problems;
• Provide engineering leadership and counsel other team members;
• Act as a professional mentor to less senior specialists and transfer implicit knowledge to specialists and other engineers;
• Carry out economic studies and cost analyses of particular importance in the field;
• Conduct field inspections and make recommendations for changes in facilities or operations;
• Promote a learning environment and implement self-development to maintain and improve expert status in highly specialized technical and general engineering fields;
• Be active in developing/ educating junior engineers and promoting engineering;
• Deliver technical presentations and write papers for peer-reviewed journals on engineering studies and projects he has overseen;
• Actively participate in work of technical societies, and participate on specialized committees within appropriate groups.
